. What is it really like to live in Spain beyond the sunshine, beaches and beautiful properties? After several years living in Spain, one of the things that has surprised me the most is the healthcare system — and it is something that people rarely talk about when considering a move here. In this video, I share my personal experience with both public and private healthcare in Spain, including what I currently pay for private health insurance, access to specialists, MRI scans, blood tests and physiotherapy sessions. I also compare my experience with healthcare costs in countries such as the United States and Brazil, and explain why healthcare becomes such an important part of quality of life — especially as we get older. But living in Spain is not only about healthcare. While walking around Estepona, I also share a little of my everyday life on the Costa del Sol, my thoughts about healthy living, and some observations about the local property market and new luxury developments. When people think about moving to Spain, they usually ask about property prices, taxes, schools, restaurants, beaches and safety. But healthcare should definitely be part of that conversation too. Because you don't truly experience a country only when you're sitting on the beach — you experience it when you need a doctor, a specialist or medical treatment for yourself or your family.
