#iranwar #usa #inflation - Iran war could lead to U.S. inflation shock, says Allianz’s Mohamed El-Erian: CNBC Television

31 March 31

Mohamed El-Erian, The Wharton School Rene Kern professor and Allianz chief economic advisor, joins ‘Squawk Box’ to discuss recent pressures on global markets, how the war might affect U.S. consumers, his outlook on energy prices, and more..

Crude prices are volatile as developments in the conflict in the Middle East and mixed messaging around the potential for further escalation keep markets on edge. CNBC's Dan Murphy has the latest from Dubai.

MeidasTouch host Ben Meiselas reports on Donald Trump potentially preparing to leave Iran with Iran controlling the Strait of Hormuz and the United States facing the most humiliating military defeat in the US history.

Spain has closed its airspace to US warplanes involved in attacks on Iran. This is another sign of the growing rift between Madrid and Washington. Spain has been Europe's most vocal opponent of the US-Israeli campaign against Iran — Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez has called it "reckless" and "illegal". His government has already barred the US from using its two jointly operated bases in Spain. US President Donald Trump has sharply criticised Spain's stance on the war in Iran, even threatening to cut all trade ties with the country. #dwnews #spain #airspace #iranwar #usairforce

The surge comes after US President Donald Trump said in an interview with the Financial Times that his preference would be to quote "take the oil in Iran" and that he was considering US boots on the ground.

We talk about this topic with Dr. Anna Mikulska, Senior Vice President at the CGCN Group, and with Chris Southworth from the International Chamber of Commerce in the United Kingdom. #dwnews #oilprices #iranwar

#Trump #Zelensky #Politics - US officials COMPROMISED! Kremlin LINKS at the top! Trump vs Zelenskyy explained: World at Stake and Scott Lucas Worldview

27 March 2026

TV host Daniel Tkiie and Scott Lucas, professor of international politics, discussed the duration of Russia's war against Ukraine.

Tensions between Donald Trump and Volodymyr Zelenskyy are drawing growing attention worldwide. Recent remarks from Zelensky suggest that Trump may view their relationship as unequal — even comparing it to a “father-son” dynamic rather than a partnership between two leaders.

What does this reveal about the true nature of their interactions? Is it a clash of personalities, political strategy, or something deeper? And the question many are now asking: does Trump genuinely distrust — or even dislike — Zelenskyy? #Trump #Zelensky #USUkraine #Politics #Geopolitics #WorldLeaders #InternationalRelations

Spain is offering Brits the chance to relocate to its quieter villages - with some schemes even paying people to make the move, all while enjoying significantly more sunshine than back home.

The initiative aims to repopulate rural areas that have seen declining populations, as younger generations move to cities in search of work, while older residents remain.

Promoting the idea, Instagram page @madrid.explore said: "Looking for a change of scenery? Spain has a crazy offer …

Tech Stocks Drop as Oil Rises on Iran War Risks | Closing Bell: Bloomberg

We look at the 70th anniversary of the August 19, 1953, U.S.- and U.K-backed coup in Iran, which took place two years after Iran’s democratically elected Prime Minister Mohammad Mosaddegh nationalized Iran’s oil industry that had been controlled by the company now known as British Petroleum.

“If nationalization in Iran of oil was successful, this would set a terrible example to other countries where U.S. oil interests were present,” explains Ervand Abrahamian, Iranian historian and author of Oil Crisis in Iran:

From Nationalism to Coup d’Etat and The Coup: 1953, The CIA, and the Roots of Modern U.S.-Iranian Relations.

While the CIA has historically taken credit for Mosaddegh’s overthrow, “the British have not admitted their leading role,” notes Iranian filmmaker Taghi Amirani, whose documentary film Coup 53 uncovers the influence of MI6 agents who sought to preserve their imperial-era access to Iranian oil and pulled in the Americans by promising a “slice.”
