Francesca Albanese highlights how Israel’s occupation has fostered an exploitative economy—built on stolen Palestinian resources such as water, land, quarries, and offshore gas—while forcing Palestinians into dependency. She stresses that this system survives through global complicity, as universities, research centers, pension funds, banks, charities, and even the UN normalize the occupation under the guise of neutrality. Albanese warns that continuing to enable or ignore this reality, especially amid Israel’s ongoing genocide, risks a collective moral failure of humanity.
